From Woodstock 1994, to every New Orleans Jazz Fest since 1996, Scramble has appeared all across the United States. This Orlando Florida based painter has, for more than a decade captured the live vibrations of music and the musicians themselves on canvas. His body of work encompasses a who's who of musical legends and the emerging jam band legends of the future. His appearances include: Music Festivals: Woodstock 94/ Saugerties, N.Y. Scramble was invited to be a part of the Woodstock Wall Project for environmental issues surrounding the festival sight. Over 100 Local and national artists participated. He was one of the only visual artists allowed to display in the festival. He showed his Absolut Love mural (8x40), and brought a 67 Painted Volkswagon Van to park beside the mural. He painted hundreds of bodys under the blacklights glow. He was featured in the Woodstock 94 movie and pay perview special.
Scramble was invited as a Performance Action Artist to capture the musical events on canvas. He did a series of psychedelic portraits of the bands, which include Lenny Kravitz, Neil Young, Rusted Root, King Crimson, Blues Traveler, and Taj Mahal Blues Band. Most of these paintings were autographed after they were painted. There was an area where Scramble art was displayed along with t-shirts and other merchandise. He would often visit the booth to paint the people admiring his artwork. They would remain a piece of art for the rest of the show.
'98 Scramble was invited to paint with the Other Ones-Weir,Lesh,Hart-Hot Tuna and Rusted Root. He has a journal of paintings that captured the weeks of music and energy. '97Scramble was invited to perform his action art for the touring event. He painted live on the lawn each day to re-create the festivities. After the show he went backstage to meet and greet the Musicians. He collected autographs of Bobby Weir, Mickey Hart, Robert Hunter, Jorma, Bruce Hornsby, and more to add to the paintings each day. In addition to his performance, Scramble exhibited Painted VW Vans, Murals, Art, and Merchandise. He body painted many people each day as living sculptures to blend in with the freaky creatures he had dispalyed around the festival.
Commissioned to continue the psychedelic portrait series of artist performing at the festivals. His artwork was hung in the backstage VIP area. He created 75 cut-out creatures that were on display for the kids area. Autographed paintings from this event include: Pete Townsend, Joni Mitchell, Richie Havens, and Lou Reed to name a few.
Commissioned to draw commemorative poster design for the 30th anniversary celebration of Woodstock. He continued his live portrait series of the musicians and the show was happening. The VIP area was turned into a viewing gallery of Scrambles most recent works. He also had a 10x10 exhibit space by the vending area with his merchandise was available and a painted VW Van was on display for extra groovy eye-candy. Some of the acts that Scramble painted are David Crosby, Arlo Guthrie, Johnny Winter, and Melanie. The musicians signed the paintings backstage after the show.
In 93 Scramble was the only local artist allowed to exhibit at the event. He could also be seen painting live action art to the music. In 92 he was an invited guest also. He displayed a 10x40 Scrambled Tuna mural. Neon painted plywood cut outs filled the concert grounds to make it scrambled. In 91 Scramble was picked to be at the first Lollapalooza to join art and music. 12 other artist displayed at this extravaganza.
Each year Scramble buys a ticket to get in, carrying easel, paints and canvases. He enjoys painting his creations in the crowd of people. Since 97 his fellow artist friend Frenchy has joined him in this tradition. The artist environment is splashing with the colors of the music. Sometimes even the concert seers get painted and become canvas themselves. Some of the autographed paintings include: Fats Domino, Jimmy Buffett, The Doobie Brothers, The Neville Brothers, Herbie Hancock, Carlos Santana, Bela Fleck, Sting, Dr. John, Willie Nelson, Sam Rivers, Widespread Panic, and Erykah Badu.
Scramble was invited to travel and paint the band on his first West Coast tour. It started with an incident at Red Rocks in Denver, Co. He traveled further and did the Full Moon Dreamdance in Great Plains, Oregon. It was 3 days of free expression, live paintings & collaborations with Michael Everett. Also had incidents occur in Mt.Shasta-N.California, The Greek Theatre in Berkley Ca, and Camp Verde in Arizona. Very beautiful paintings done in natural settings with fun people and great music.
Scramble brought his easel into the fair and painted. He created a painting while Deep Banana Blackout was on the main stage. He danced in the audience directing his energy to his canvas. It was a very inspiring festival with creative costumes and unique handmade things.
Widespread Panic Halloween '00/ N.Orleans, La Scramble was invited by the band to paint and capture the energy of this 3-day show. He also did a limited edition 3-D poster for this event. He had murals in an entrance hallway to decorate and display. Also displayed large cut out creatures in concert area.
Scramble went to the set of Austin City Limits. He wanted to capture this bands energy from the recording studio. He did a black & white drawing on canvas while the show was being taped.
'99 Scramble was an invited guest and performer. He fully decorated the main stage with his artwork and cutouts. He painted live on stage during the festivals musical acts. He painted with String Cheese Incident joined by Peter Rowen, Stir-fried, Refried Confusion, Big Brother and Holding Co.; It's a Beautiful Day, and the Toni Brown Band. 98 Scramble was an invited guest and performer. He fully decorated the main stage with his artwork and cutouts. He painted live on stage during the festivals musical acts. He created visual interpretations of David Grisman, Old in the Way, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Toni Brown Band, and Refried Confusion. 97 Scramble was a special guest on stage with the bands. He painted with Merl Saunders, David Grisman Quartet, Old in the Way, and Quicksilver Messenger Service. He provided the stage with a backdrop of canvas and color. He displayed murals and a psychedelic painted VW MadVan. There was a tent with T-shirts and other Scrambled merchandise.
Scramble was invited to create his eye candy for this festival. Paintings from this weekend include John Bell Solo, Derek Trucks, Maceo Parker, Leftover Salmon, Baby Gramps, Yonder Mountain String Band, Isolated Light w/ Col. Bruce Hampton

Superfly Productions 98 & '00/Contemporary Art Center, New Orleans, LA '00 Scramble was invited to paint &cruise the Miss. River on the Cajun Queen with String Cheese Incident. He also painted Oysterhead, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones and String Cheese Incident at the Sanger Theatre. '98 Scramble could be seen painting in the crowd during the show. He painted live to Medesky, Martin, & Wood, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Galactic, and Morphine.

Scramble was a special guest to this festival. He painted 2 paintings of B.B. live in the crowd while it rained. He also painted a portrait of New Orleans own Dr. John. Phish- The Clifford Ball 97/ Plattsburg, NY Scramble and Shay rode rollerblades into the show with a backpack full of paint, a blank canvas 8x5, and a very big smile. It was the largest concert in North America that year. Scramble painted his interpretation of the music, band and concert seers. He sat up his paints and canvas in the middle of the school of phish heads and captured the day of canvas. 2001 String Cheese Odyssey/ Portland, Oregon Scramble was invited to paint at the New Years Extravaganza. He did 5 paintings of String Cheese Incident in the 3-day event. On the last day he was on a riser painting with a spotlight as the parade and events were taking place. He also painted Steele Pulse, Osomatli, Keller Williams, & Dr. Didg Phish- New Years Eve 95 & 97/Madison Square Garden, New York City, NY Scramble painted and did drawings while he watched the show among the phish-heads. String Cheese Fall Tour/ East Coast 5 City's-6 shows Make Art/Will Travel Scramble headed out after designing 4 underground posters for these venues. His
cow-hooper theme was
issued in Asheville, NC- Birmingham, Al- Athens, GA- Atlanta, GA- &
Gainesville, Fl. He painted live at each show. In Athens at the Georgia
Theatre he displayed murals and lg. plywood cutouts of hooping cows. His
artwork was also used to decorate Kyle Hollingsworth's keyboards for these
